I am officially a blogger, I guess. I have kept journals through the years, some dating back to when I was 6 or 7. I've been wanting to get back into journaling, not necessarily for anyone else's sake by my own, and I just recently decided to jump on the blogging bandwagon. I haven't, nor will I, totally give up facebook because I like seeing pictures and getting updates on family and friends that live far away, but you one can only write so much on facebook.
The title above actually doesn't refer to "finally" becoming a blogger. It refers to this is "finally" the last weekend that John and Justin have to spend in Gainesville before their graduation weekend. Thank goodness! During the past 15 months, both of the boys have worked their butts off at work, worked their butts off for school, and they both got engaged during that time. John helped plan our wedding, and Justin is in the process of doing the same with Kristin. I think these boys deserve a huge round of applause, and we can't wait to celebrate next month when they graduate on December 12th.
Today starts the 5th weekend in a row that John and I will have spent apart. He was in Gainesville for class the weekend of Oct 8, in China the following 2 weekends, and away for Pic's bachelor party last weekend. He and Justin are leaving for Gainesville today. It isn't that I haven't had plenty to keep me busy because I most certainly have. However, I'm over being away from him. I think it's healthy every now and then, but I don't ever want to do it for 5 weekends in a row again. Just like the past 4 weekends, this one will be equally as busy. I'm going to try to squeeze in a run after work today, assuming my knees cooperate. I'm trying to enjoy outdoor running as much as I can before the time changes this weekend; after this weekend, I won't get home in time to run before the sun goes down. I will so miss running along the water in Dunedin, watching the sun set. Next to the time that John walks through the door after work, running is my favorite time of the day. After my run today, I must get to the grocery store to stock up on baking goods for Erika's Bachelorette Party/Lingerie Shower tomorrow night. I will spend this evening baking and then hopefully read a few chapters in The Hunger Games, the most disturbing book I've ever read. I will try to get another run in tomorrow morning, perhaps with Kristin, before we decorate her house and get ready for the big evening. I'll go to church on Sunday morning, then lunch and mani/pedis with Mama S (my mother-in-law,) and then John should be home from Gainesville a few hours later. Life really is good!
More to come later...
